Are You a Shuttermomma?!

March 5, 2011

About a year and a half ago my very good friend Erin Tukua, of Erin Tukua Photography came to me with a great idea!! She mentioned to me that mom’s on her shoots are always asking her for advice on how to take better pics of their kids, and I totally knew what she was talking about, I had the same thing happen to me time and time again.  Erin had devised a website where moms’ (and dads’) could come and learn how to take better pictures of their kids!! I thought this was such a great idea, that when she asked me to be her partner in it, I was beyond thrilled!!  I have watched Erin grow over the years as a wife, mom, and now amazing photographer, that I was so excited to do something like this with her. Well a lot of time past, and Erin got pregnant again, had a newborn baby while raising twins, and then Chris and I got pregnant!  But we decided that now was the perfect time to start our adventure!!

Shutter Momma has arrived!! If you are a mom with one of those fancy dslr cameras but stuck shooting on auto, Shuttermomma is for you! Shuttermomma was dreamed up with the intention of helping chic shuttermomma’s learn how to take better pictures of their kids! We aren’t for advanced learners, but if you are a beginner and want to learn how to stop shooting in auto and begin shooting in manual, you are in the right place! We will be offering tips, lessons, products we can’t live without, as well as fun contests and giveaways each week! Our little ones grow so fast, and here at Shuttermomma, we want to help you capture every moment!  It is such a fun site already, and we are really looking forward to sharing tips and advice with you, seeing your photos of your little ones improve, and just building a community of fun moms (and dads)!!

Stop by and check us out!! www.shuttermomma.com

We love working with clients who come back year after year, because each time we get together, the photos are that much better.  Not only do the kids get to know you as the photographer, they have more fun!  Plus, we love knowing that a family enjoys our work.  With Jenna and Shaun, we’ve known them for a couple years now.  We have known little Slater before he was even a sparkle in Jenna’s eye, and we’ve had the pleasure of watching him grow up from inside the belly into a little man with a great little personality.  We also love watching Savannah turn into the cutest girl, a spitting image of her mom.  For this year’s holiday portraits, they wanted to go urban, so that meant heading up to downtown Los Angeles and exploring the really cool warehouse district.  We hope you enjoy!

It’s that time of year that all the mom’s wait for, and all the husbands’ dread… Holiday Picture time!  Each year I get people contacting me wanting to know my specials for the holiday season… well I am trying to be a “planner” this year, and announce them early!  This year we are offering a 1-2 hour shoot in the location of your choice, a password protected online gallery,  a $50 print credit, and 50 custom designed  5 x 7 folded, 5 x 7 flat, or  5 x 5 flat holiday cards all for $350.  You can add an additional pack of 25 cards on to your package for an additional $40.  Since I get into the holiday spirit about 4 months early, this is the lowest my packages go all year!  This year I am also offering a DVD with all the full resolution prints from your session for an additional $200.  Please contact me early as my availability does fill up fast for these sittings.  And because every blog without a picture is like peanut butter without its’ jelly… here is a shot to get you in the mood….
