Keep it Simple :: Rachel & Casey

April 2, 2009

There is a sign that hangs in our office that reads “Keep It Simple.”  I hung it over our door to remind us that sometimes the best things in photography and life, are those things that are simple and pure.  Rachel & Casey are a perfect example of chic simplicity.  When we arrived at their La Costa Resort hotel room, there wasn’t a huge ordeal with 15 people trying to get ready at once, it was just Casey & Rachel spending these few precious hours together.  They had found stunning vintage wedding attire that cost them a grand total of $11, and a simple backyard ceremony was one of the most romantic and heartfelt weddings I have ever attended.   These two are in love, they made a choice to marry one another, and that pure act of devotion was enough for each of them.  It was romantic and beautiful, and Chris and I loved spending every minute with these two.  They reminded us of the real reasons two people choose to marry one another, it isn’t the wedding, or the gifts, or the fancy honeymoon in an exotic location, it is as simple as LOVE.

We feel so blessed that we were asked to capture this special day by Rachel & Casey.  Casey and Chris were childhood friends, and Casey moved back east after middle school.  Chris hadn’t seen Casey since middle school, and I am glad they were able to see how each of their lives turned out.  Casey could not have picked a more perfect partner in Rachel, she is lovely, sweet, and talented.  We wish both of them a lifetime of happiness, but we know they won’t need much help!

I adored their style, and this location… these are some of my favorite wedding images to date!
