Last weekend Chris and I found ourselves with a totally free day off!  No family or friend obligations, no family or newborn shoot, not even a wedding.  Perplexed, with tried to decide what “normal” (meaning non-photographer types) do with this mysterious “day off”.  After much deliberation we decided to head up to Julian and enjoy the first snow the big storms had brought us!  I will admit it took a little convincing to actually get me out of bed early enough to beat the traffic to Julian.  After a few sweet kisses from my hubby we headed out the 79 and on our way, cameras in hand of course!  The drive up to Julian was delightful, and the scenery was gorgeous.  It was as if the big man himself had powder sugared the hills!  Chris and I had a wonderful time jumping in the snow… seemed like the thing to do… and trying to make snow angels (didn’t work).  We bought some yummy apple cider and snacks from the Cider Mill, and walked the entire town (2 blocks) to find a bathroom… it was rough!

On a side note… I have such a wonderful hubby… and Monday was his 30 somethingish birthday… we were at a wedding all day, he was such a good sport!  This man is amazing.  He is a wonderful photographer, supportive and loving companion, my best friend, partner in crime, and it’s hard not to laugh at even the corniest jokes he tells.  Whether he is shooting a wedding, or doing some small task I have assigned to him… he does everything with love!

We are headed out to Arizona to go camping with our amazing friends, so we will be back in the office on Monday!  Happy New Years to all my blogies.. I hope you find your self ringing in the New Year with those you love! I have already started my New Years resolution… so I wish all of you luck and strength in yours!

We have been fortunate enough to get to shoot with some truly amazing individuals.  Among some of the most talented are several up and coming musical artists.  Kenna Nicole has a voice like a sweet songbird, and she is such a kind and bubbly person!  We met up last weekend in Temecula to take some new publicity photographs.  Kenna was such a good sport, and was awesome in front of the camera.  We can’t wait to see where Kenna Nicole’s talent and hardwork take her, and we know we will be seeing her name in the big lights someday!  Check out her music at www.myspace.com/kennanicolemusic .  Here are some of my favorite shots from the session… it was a tough choice to narrow them down!

This post has been a long time coming, thanks to the craziness of the holidays.  We first met Jenna and Shaun at the Orange County Trash the Dress shoot in the spring, and since then we’ve become good friends with them!  When we found out Jenna was pregnant, we knew we had to get some maternity photos, so back in the fall we met up with them in Laguna Beach for a fun maternity session.  She has since had her newest addition to the family, Lil’ S, and he is adorable!  They have customized every little detail of the nursery to his rockin’ parents, down to the custom canvas painting his daddy did just for him.  Congratulations you guys, and we can’t wait to watch Lil’ S grow up in front of our cameras!
