In Love :: Melissa & Jon

September 21, 2008

“We’ve known each other for a while” Melissa explained as I asked them how they met.  It was obvious that these two had known each other for quite sometime, in fact you would bet it was forever.  Every so often you meet a couple who were destined to be together from the beginning, and when you are around these two, time seems to stop.

Melissa has grown from a gorgeous, sweet, and intelligent girl I knew in high school, into an even more gorgeous, talented and sweet woman.  Jon is the stereotypical nice guy they you hope all your friends are lucky enough to meet and marry!  Melissa and Jon are both pilots, Jon in the Navy and Melissa has a private license.  They are getting married in Texas next weekend, so we couldn’t wait to drag them out to the Salton Sea for a fun photo shoot!  They were made for each other, and to be in front of the camera!  I am so happy for Melissa and Jon, and so sad I won’t get to shoot their wedding next weekend.  They are in good hands with Chris though!!

I loved every single shot from our afternoon together… but these are some of my favs!

Senior Style :: Barbi

September 10, 2008

She crossed the street, and right away you could see that nervous anticipation drawn on her face.  In a few short weeks, Barbi would be independent for the first time in her life.  Leaving the comfort and security of home and high school behind, and reinventing herself amidst college life.  As she guided us around the campus, showing us her favorite spots she had found, it was easy to see the woman emerging inside.

It made us think back to our college moments, the joys, the struggles, the moments that truly test yourself.  There will be bittersweet moments, wonderful and painful.  However, the person that develops is remarkable.  We know Barbi is brilliant, sweet, funny, focused, and will take UC Irvine by storm.  We can not wait to see what she does with her life!!

Congratulations to Barbi for accomplishing such a significant achievement in your life.  I loved this Senior shoot… Barbi is gorgeous, and the camera loves her!

Love :: Lacy & Tim

September 9, 2008

Chris and I had a busy weekend, with 2 back to back weddings on Friday and Saturday, plus they were 6 hours apart from one another.  On Saturday we headed up to Paso Robles for the wedding of Lacy and Tim.  For all your greek people, Lacy is my “gran lil”, non greek people, shes a sorority sister.  I have talked to Lacy through emails for a couple years now, but I had never had the pleasure of meeting her in person.

We arrived at Lacy’s house on Saturday and all was blissfully hectic.  The last minute touches of the bridal party, and Lacy preparing to get into her dress.  Chris quickly dropped me off and headed to the fellas house to get some shots of the groom.  Lacy was carefree and glowing, like all brides should be.  This was the culmination of a wonderful relationship with her handsome husband to be.  In a few short moments, they would begin a new path as husband and wife.  Lacy’s bridesmaids loving looked on, as her mother and sister helped her put on the final touches of her wardrobe.  She hid the nerves behind an beautiful and inviting smile.

The phone rang, and the girls scurried to head down to the limo waiting at the bottom of the hill.  The short ride to the church was filled with laughter and commotion, and two lovely lil’ flower girls admired the “princess” sitting at the other end of the car.  It wasn’t too many years ago Lacy had been their age, and today, with her parents sitting behind her, they were helping their baby take the next step.

As the girls shuffled out of the limo, Lacy held back, peering out of the car, anticipating locking eyes with her groom for the very first time that day.  The church was adorned in beautiful bows and flowers, and the guests eagerly waited for Tim and Lacy’s appearence.

Before you knew it, the ceremony was over, and Tim and Lacy headed down the aisle, towards a stunning reception, and to tackle the path the lay ahead, together.

Thank you to Tim and Lacy for letting us capture your BIG day.  You two are as lovely on the inside as you are on the outside.  You made our jobs so easy!! We hope you are having a wonderful time at Disneyland.

I love these shots…
