Happy Anniversary Honey!

August 17, 2008

One year ago today at about this time I was starring in the mirror, looking at myself as a single girl for the last time.  I anxiously thought to myself, “yay… today I am the bride!”  The day was semi-hectic like all big days are, no matter how much your plan or prep.  The massage, the hair, the makeup, the friends crammed into my room… it was magical.  Before I knew it, we were in the limo and headed for the ceremony and reception site, my nerves in tow.  I was not nervous to marry Chris, I was just nervous that everything would go as planned.  I remember waiting in the back out of view so anxious to see this man I had patiently waited 7 years to marry.

It had been 7 years since our first date, and we were both young and immature.  But over the course of the next 7 Years we remained amazing friends.  All the things I liked about this man continued to grow exponentially, and before I realized it I found myself in love with him, but I don’t think I admitted it because we were friends and he was in a relationship.  At the same time his feelings had begun to change, and when we both found ourself single, well as hard I tried to make him date other girls, he persued me.  5 months later we were engaged in a truley romantic proposal on the Beach, and a little over a year from that we were engaged.

All these memories flashed through my head as I waited for the door to open, and I would start that bittersweet path down the aisle towards him, my arm linked securely to my fathers.  I realized that all my nerves had vanished, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this remarkable and talented man, the hardest part was letting go of my parents.  As soon as his blurry figure came into detail I could see holding back the tears, and it melted my heart.  It is what every bride hopes for, the look on their grooms face!  As I met him in the middle of the bridge that overlooked an elegant and peaceful koy pond, I thought that it was so symbolic of marriage.  Two people that meet in the middle, joining their two lives together, and the bridge remains strong over whatever the water may bring.

I want to thank my wonderful husband for marrying me a year ago today, you have taught me so much about myself and the capacity of love.  I want to thank both our parents for being outstanding rolemodels in our lives, and for their constant love and support.  Of course we thank all of our friends, who enhance our life so sweetly.

Baby, I love you more then my words can express, and there isn’t a long enough blog to post them.  You are an amazing, kind, funny, strong, and talented man.  I can’t wait for you to be a father and I look forward to all the wonderful adventures that await.  Thank you for loving me so sweetly, and being so patient with me, I know I can be a pain sometimes.  I love you… Happy Anniversary to us! In Love: Valerie & Mike

August 4, 2008

From the moment we saw these two walking towards us in the distance, you could tell that they were in love.  Their smiles radiated, and you couldn’t help but feel so giddy to be in their company.  Valerie & Mike will say their “I do’s” in December, but before that day comes they couldn’t wait to do an E-Session in Old Town San Diego.

It was such a blast shooting a couple that you can tell is simply “made for each other”.  The way they laughed, and looked at each other, it reminded Chris and I what a lucky thing it is to find that love in another person.  I can’t wait to shoot Valerie & Mike’s wedding, and since it is on Chris’ birthday, I hope they save him a lil’ piece of cake!

Here are some fab shots of the love birds!
