Showering Leah & Lil’ Elle with Love
April 28, 2008Saturday was a very momentous and special occasion for one of my best friends Leah. It was the shower for her Lil’ Elle, who is due in the middle of June. Growing older with the same group of girls is a WEIRD and WONDERFUL experience. I can remember sitting around Leah’s room, Winnie-the-Pooh splashed over each wall, singing Steve Miller Band, and talking about the boys we liked, and the latest gossip. Now, fast forward 14 years later, we are almost all married, and Leah is the first of us with a baby on the way. You never feel old, until you realize that everyone around you is growing older, I still feel like a kid, well a kid with a ton of responsibility, who can stay up as late as I want, but never make it past 11pm. (Seriously… we TIVO SNL on Saturday’s).
It would take me a million words to describe how wonderful Leah and Trevor are. Leah is the perfect mommy to all her friends. She was the first to move out and play house! She was the first of us to get married, and moved far away to Arizona. She bought a house with Trevor, she taught me about “house” stuff, and how to “register”, in fact I think I am a good home maker because I learned so many things from her! Leah is also a phenomenal cook, she makes me look like Chef Boyardee! Trevor is mature, responsible, and great with kids. Most of all he LOVES his girls so much, that I am sure Chris and I will learn how to be good parents from them too!
Leah’s shower was beautiful, decked out in pink’s and greens, butterflies, and ladybug’s… oh my! Leah’s sister Sarah, her mom Mary, and BFF Missy and her mom Deb did such a phenomenal job with the decorations, food, and the games. Ravioli’s in Lake Elsinore did the catering, it was SUPER YUMMY! The whole day was perfect, and Leah was showered with so much love from the 40 people who were in attendance. I think she is set for the first year on diapers and clothes! I can not wait to be an “auntie” to Lil’ Elle, I know she will be just as amazing as her mommy and daddy, which is pretty impressive. Here are some moments I captured from the day, of course when I wasn’t “oooooing” and “awwwwwing” at the cute baby stuff!
