This fall we have been extremely blessed to get to shoot the weddings of so many of our friends.  In fact our wedding season concludes with a life long friend of Chris’ and one of my sorority sisters this weekend.  Chris and Kristel are perfect for one another, and it makes my heart melt the way that these two look at one another.  You could feel the love they share from across the country!  This wedding was simple, elegant and just them.  Kristel looked amazing, every bride does on their wedding day, but Kristel really glowed!  It is that look that you have when you can’t wait to start your forever.  My favorite part of any wedding is watching the bride get ready.  It is a ritual, and it is beautiful.  It is the last moments they have as a single woman, before she chooses a partner and starts a new journey and family with them.  The thoughts that run through their mind, the last precious laughs with their mothers and friends.  It is one of the greatest joys to be apart of someones wedding day.  Kristel and Chris married the perfect partner, and we am so excited to see where their lives take them, and all the wonderful things they accomplish together!  I love these moments…

It is such a great honor when we are asked by friends to shoot their wedding, or special event in their lives.  It is even more meaningful when Chris gets to shoot the wedding of his friend Dustin who grew up on the same block with him.  Dustin met, courted, and married a beautiful, smart, and funny woman named Katie. (And I am not just saying that because we are both UC Davis alums!)   These two release happiness.  You can not be in a bad mood, or even hold back a smile when you are around the two of them.  Whatever it is that people say a couple in love truly has… these two HAVE it, plus some.  There are those couples who everyone knows that you know will be the 80 year old couple out of the diamond commercial… walking in the park, hand in hand, smooching.  Dustin & Katie get my vote for that couple (after Chris and I of course).  It was such a fun wedding, and Chris and I had so much fun putting down our cameras at the end and enjoying the party!  Plus Dustin’s SDSU Frat brother’s were a lot of fun to have at our table!  I love that Dustin brought the mustang that is his father and his restoration project, it is so much fun when couples use fun props in their photos!  We love it!  Here are my favorites, enjoy….

Love is simple.  It is all the other stuff that gets in the way of it on occasion.  I adore weddings because they are those days, spread among all the other crazy days in the year, where we are reminded of love.  Matt and Karen simply love one another.  They came together among their family and friends and promised to love one another for the rest of their lives, and it could not have been a more beautiful on intimate affair.  The air was filled with laughter and happiness that not even the bitter cold weather to dissipate.  We felt overjoyed to be among friends and family, helping these two souls celebrate the love they have found with one another.  We know they will have a long and happy life together!  Here are some of my favorite moments captured throughout the day….
